For some time now, it has not been unusual for musicians to sell so-called VIP tickets for their concerts, which usually entitle the buyers to meet the musicians offstage, get an autograph and pose for a photo together. Those who do not like this practice will be pleased to hear that there are also musicians who do not think much of it either. Peter Tägtgren, founder and frontman of the bands Hypocrisy and PAIN and co-founder of Lindemann, is one of these musicians. During yesterday’s album listening session with a live chat for the remastered version of the PAIN album “Nothing Remains The Same” on YouTube, a fan asked whether it would be possible for owners of a VIP ticket for The Halo Effect to also meet PAIN during their joint European tour in early 2025. Peter Tägtgren then shared his views on the VIP ticket system:
“I hate vip tickets. It’s a scam to make more money of your fans, I don’t support things like that.. I’m sure you’ll see us around on tour for free.”
– Peter Tägtgren
In the same chat, Peter Tägtgren hinted that there will soon be another album listening session with a live chat on YouTube, presumably for the remastered version of the PAIN album “Dancing With The Dead”. Both remastered versions will be released on 17 January 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records and can be pre-ordered here.
The dates for the aforementioned joint European tour of PAIN, The Halo Effect and Bloodred Hourglass, which takes place in January 2025 and February 2025, can be seen below. Tickets and further information can be found on The Halo Effect‘s website. It should be noted, though, that – with the exception of Denmark’s capital Copenhagen – PAIN will not be part of the Nordic dates as they just completed their two-week Nordic tour in October 2024. Chaoszine was there for you, and you can read all about their kick-off show in the Swedish city of Falun here, check out the corresponding photo gallery here and check out another photo gallery from the Nordic tour’s final show in Finland’s capital Helsinki here.
