The lineup for Kaaos Festival, taking place in Vaskiluoto, Vaasa, Finland on July 24th–25th, 2026, is now complete with the announcement of the festival’s final artist addition. At the same time, the festival has also revealed its day-by-day schedules.

The final act added to the bill is the three-piece modern death/groove metal band Inborn Tendency, who emerged victorious from the festival’s band competition featuring more than 200 participating bands. The group will open Saturday’s program at the festival.

Friday brings international rarities and melodic death metal

Friday’s lineup offers a mix of international rarities and Finnish metal favorites. The festival will feature the first-ever Finnish performance by Japanese metal act Ryujin, while Swedish pop metal giants Dead By April will play their only Finnish show of the summer. Fans will also get to witness the rapidly rising melodic death metal powerhouse The Halo Effect, featuring former members of In Flames.

Also appearing on Friday are melodic death metal heavyweights Insomnium, who are set to release a new album this fall, as well as the rarely performing Finnish metal act Nicole, originally formed in Teuva.

Saturday offers rare special performances for metal fans

Saturday’s program, meanwhile, delivers several unique special performances for metal fans. Swedish death/thrash veterans The Crown will play the final Finnish show of their long career, while Japanese artist Ryoji Shinomoto will perform a unique tribute to his biggest inspiration, Alexi Laiho.

Local grindcore pride Rotten Sound will appear with a rare “Murderworks & Exit” special set, while Anette Olzon will perform material from Nightwish albums “Dark Passion Play” and “Imaginaerum” in Finland for the first time in more than a decade.

In addition, Vaasa-based metal pioneers Misantropia will make a historic return to the stage after more than 30 years away from live performances. The band features current Nightwish / Wintersun drummer Kai Hahto on their ranks.
