What is Gallows teasing…?

Gallows seem to be hinting at a reunion with their former singer Frank Carter after going dark on social media, as per theprp. The British hardcore punk group hasn’t done anything since 2021. The band released the video below this morning, in which Carter considers his last performance with the group in 2011 and speculates on what he might do if they got back together. Wade MacNeil of Alexisonfire was recruited in to replace Carter following the band’s breakup. Carter would later concentrate on his band Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and, more recently, lead the legendary punk group the Sex Pistols.

Although Gallows was founded in 2004, live performances didn’t start until 2005. In 2006, they put out their first album, “Orchestra of Wolves”. Brett Gurewitz of Bad Religion was impressed by the album and decided to release it in the US on Epitaph Records. The CD featured new tracks, including a rendition of “Nervous Breakdown” by Black Flag. In an interview, Gurewitz praised “Orchestra of Wolves” as the best hardcore album since Refused‘s “The Shape of Punk to Come” and listed it as one of his top 2007 albums. The South by Southwest showcase festival, Warped Tour 2007, Download Festival, Taste of Chaos, and the Reading Festival were all stops on Gallows’ 2007 tour. At the Reading Festival, the band stopped playing so frontman Frank Carter could get an onstage tattoo.

The group took home the 2007 Kerrang! Best British Newcomer Award. In Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, their song “In the Belly of a Shark” appears. Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground includes the song “Come Friendly Bombs” from the album. On November 25, 2007, Gallows‘ third single, a rendition of “Staring at the Rude Bois” by The Ruts, debuted at number 31 on the list and became their first UK top 40 record. Lethal Bizzle provided guest vocals on the song. The Jim Carrey movie “Yes Man” from 2008 used the song. The band’s single “Just Because You Sleep Next to Me Doesn’t Mean You’re Safe” was released in February, and the video was shot at Emo’s in Texas.
