Sid Wilson has discreetly acknowledged his dismissal from Slipknot following a tumultuous few weeks, as per theprp. On July 31st, TMZ originally reported that he had been “permanently” kicked out of the band. Days later, TMZ claimed in a follow-up article that his dismissal was due to the way he treated his bandmates. This past Friday, August 14, Slipknot made a brief announcement about Wilson’s firing, however members of the band and its inner circle would contest the allegations. Members of the Slipknot camp quickly retracted their claims, and Wilson has now validated the information. In the absence of a formal declaration, he has added “@slipknot 1997-2026” to his Instagram bio to highlight his previous membership in the masked metal outfit.

During his stay, Wilson was considered one of the core nine members of the band’s iconic era. He was especially well-known for his daring antics during the band’s wild live performances in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Percussionist Shawn Crahan, singer Anders Colsefni, and bassist Paul Grey founded the American heavy metal group Slipknot in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995. From 1999 until Gray’s passing in 2010, the band had nine members—Crahan, Grey, Joey Jordison, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, and Jim Root—after a number of lineup changes in its early years. Slipknot is well-known for their eye-catching appearance, combative musical style, and exuberant, wild live performances. “Mate. Kill. Feed. Repeat.”, the band’s first demo record was a failure, but once their first self-titled studio album, “Slipknot”, was released in 1999, they quickly became well-known worldwide.

Despite having a darker and more violent tone, the band’s 2001 follow-up studio album, “Iowa”, increased their popularity. Following a short break, Slipknot made a comeback in 2004 with V”ol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)”. They then took another break until making a comeback in 2008 with “All Hope Is Gone”, their fourth studio album, which debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200 chart. 2014 saw the release of Slipknot‘s fifth studio album,” .5: The Grey Chapter”, following yet another protracted break. August 9, 2019 saw the release of “We Are Not Your Kind”, their sixth studio album. On September 30, 2022, their seventh studio album, “The End, So Far,” was made available.
