Jim Root (Slipknot) addresses the latest drama surrounding the band

The repercussions from Slipknot‘s purported formal announcement of their turntablist Sid Wilson’s termination has seen some additional developments, as per theprp. You are probably well aware that Wilson’s permanent dismissal from the band was initially reported by TMZ on July 31st. Jim Root, his bandmate and guitarist, warned fans not to “believe everything you read” in a mysterious social media post shortly after the news emerged. Wilson, for his part, presented himself as a band member earlier this week and dismissed in-person questioning from the media over his affiliation with the group. The masked metal band did, however, momentarily acknowledge on August 14, that Wilson was no longer a member.

Following the brief announcement from the band, the following additional quote attributed to Root has been widely circulating throughout the band’s fan communities, suggesting that there may have been some nuance to Root’s first statement. Commentary from Stacy Thomson, the band’s guitarist Mick Thomson’s wife, caused similar misunderstanding in the band’s camp.

Stacy was criticised online for her aforementioned statement shortly after Slipknot’s formal confirmation went up. “oh stop it wasn’t true when TMZ posted it. And I assure you the guys ALL always give chances“. Wilson doesn’t seem to have addressed the matter in public as of the time of publication. However, the apparent official announcement of his departure comes after his ex-fiance Kelly Osbourne made scathing remarks that many have assumed were directed at Wilson. For their part, TMZ stated earlier this month that Wilson’s behaviour of his bandmates was the reason for his termination.

From 1999 until Gray’s passing in 2010, the band had nine members—Crahan, Grey, Joey Jordison, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, and Jim Root—after a number of lineup changes in its early years. Slipknot is well-known for their eye-catching appearance, combative musical style, and exuberant, wild live performances. “Mate.
