Australian thrash band Harlott have announced their fifth full-length album, “Exsequiis,” due September 11, 2026 via Metal Blade Records. The band also shared a video for the album’s lead single, “Trial by Liar.”
The band described their approach to the new record as building on the confidence gained while making “Detritus Of The Final Age.” According to Harlott, that earlier album pushed them to explore ideas they previously avoided, and “Exsequiis” continues in that direction.
Lyrically, “Exsequiis” stays grounded in real-world concerns rather than fantasy or horror themes. On lead single “Trial by Liar,” Harlott criticize a lack of accountability for dishonesty. The band hopes truth eventually catches up with those responsible.
The band formed in Melbourne twenty years ago and built their reputation through steady evolution. Their catalog includes “Origin” in 2013, “Proliferation” in 2015, “Extinction” in 2017, and “Detritus Of The Final Age” in 2020. “Exsequiis” arrives six years after that last record, marking the group’s longest gap between albums.
Metal Blade will release “Exsequiis” on CD, digital and vinyl, including a limited “Coagulation” A-Side/B-Side vinyl pressing capped at 500 copies for Europe. Pre-orders are now open through Metal Blade’s website.
