Frozen Soul release official live video for “No Place Of Warmth” featuring Gerard Way

Earlier this year, the title track of Frozen Soul‘s third studio album, “No Place Of Warmth,” included singer Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance, shocking fans, as per theprp. In the past, Frozen Soul provided some background on the unexpected pairing with emo rock royalty. Way joined Frozen Soul onstage at The Novo in Los Angeles, California, to repeat his role on the song, around two months after it was first released in February. They were founded in 2018, released their first EP, “Encased in Ice”, the following year, and their first studio album, “Crypt of Ice”, in 2021. Their second album, “Glacial Domination”, which was praised for fusing hardcore and classic death metal, was released in May 2023. Trivium‘s Matt Heafy produced the album. In May 2025, the band played at the Sonic Temple music event in Columbus, Ohio.

Many extreme music lovers have taken an interest in the band in just five years. The moment has come for Frozen Soul, and their most recent release. Their strongest and most bitter declaration is “No Place of Warmth”, the band’s third album, which is a monolithic, epic, and demanding collection of anthems constructed on the ideal balance of aggression and delicate melody, enabling soaring guitar leads to shine a lantern thru the pitch-black gulf of riffs. Only vocalist Chad Green’s demonic, sandpaper-like howl can counterbalance the galloping instrumental fury created by the trio of Michael Munday (guitar), Samantha Mobley (bass), and Chris Bonner, who offer the snarling, muscular guitar flesh to attach to Matt Dennard (drums) booming double-bass framework.

Green’s voice also performs a variety of roles, ranging from soothsayer to dungeon master to spiritual advisor, telling stories of never-ending conflicts and defeating adversaries. “No Place of Warmth”‘s music is firmly death metal, leaning toward the unbridled aggression of hardcore punk while preserving the band’s Texas-sized sound by fusing early Earache ruination (Carcass, Bolt Thrower, etc.) with classic American death metal (Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Mortician, Mota Skuld).
