My Chemical Romance is an American rock ensemble originating from New Jersey. The current configuration comprises lead vocalist Gerard Way, lead guitarist Ray Toro, rhythm guitarist Frank Iero, and bassist Mikey Way. They are regarded as one of the most influential groups of the 2000s within the rock genre and are recognized as prominent figures in the emo and pop-punk styles, despite the band’s rejection of the former designation. The band was established in September 2001 by Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Ray Toro, and drummer Matt Pelissier, with Frank Iero later joining the lineup.

Initially, they signed with Eyeball Records and released their debut album, “I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love”, in 2002. The following year, they signed with Reprise Records and launched their major-label debut, “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge”, in 2004. Subsequently, Pelissier was replaced by Bob Bryar shortly after the album’s release. The album achieved commercial success, attaining platinum certification over a year later.
