Additional shows announced for “A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness” featuring Billy Corgan

Author Benedetta Baldin - 12.6.2026

Billy Corgan’s operatic adaptation of The Smashing Pumpkins‘ “Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness” has an extended timetable for its impending European/UK run, as per theprp. Following the release of that historic diamond-certified double record in the alternative rock group’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois, last autumn, the production has been booked for a few international appearances this autumn. Shows in Rotterdam and Brussels are now part of the updated program for that run. This is what has been reserved. Ed Parks, a baritone, will perform at the stops in Belgium, France, and London. Tenor Dominick Valdes Chenes, mezzo-soprano Zoie Reams, and soprano Sydney Mancasola will all perform during the run. However, baritone Dean Murphy will only perform at the final stops in Spain.

The success of translating ‘Mellon Collie‘ into operatic and classical form has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my life, where on each of the seven sold-out nights in Chicago we’d finish within the raucous wave of a standing ovation. So to now take it on the road, and to Europe, too says this magical dream doesn’t have to end. – Billy Corgan

It has been so gratifying to discover how the nuances and layers of ‘Mellon Collie‘ reveal themselves in fresh new ways in these symphonic, choral and operatic settings. To now have the opportunity to perform this work in Europe with world-class musicians in such important venues is nothing short of thrilling. – Conductor James Lowe
