Author Benedetta Baldin - 1.5.2026

After an increased accusation of attempted first-degree murder, Brady Ebert, co-founder and former guitarist of Baltimore rock/hardcore band Turnstile, now faces a possible life sentence, as per lambgoat. After reportedly purposefully crashing his vehicle into 79-year-old William Yates, the father of Turnstile singer Brendan Yates, Ebert was taken into custody in late March. After then, the elder Yates was admitted to the hospital due to severe injuries. A Montgomery County grand jury indicted Ebert on the new allegation yesterday, Thursday, April 30, according to The Baltimore Banner. Ebert had previously been charged with several offences, including attempted second-degree murder.

Ebert is still being held at the Montgomery County Correction Facility and is scheduled to appear in court on May 8. Since then, William Yates has been released from the hospital and is still recuperating at home. Turnstile used a video message to promote his son’s band just before his recent Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival performance.
