Former Turnstile member Brady Ebert faces psychiatric evaluation in attempted murder case

Regarding the present case of attempted first-degree manslaughter, former Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert has been mandated to undergo a competence evaluation, as per theprp. Following a fight with William Yates, the 79-year-old father of Turnstile singer Brendan Yates, on March 29, 2026, Ebert was taken into custody. After a furious verbal altercation, Ebert is accused of running over the elder Yates with his car, badly breaking William’s leg. This police report included more information about the event, which was the most recent in a series of heated arguments allegedly started by Ebert with the Yates family, and acknowledged the existence of surveillance tape of the incident. The removal of Ebert from Turnstile in 2022 was particularly controversial.

Ebert’s charges of first-degree assault and attempted second-degree murder were changed to attempted first-degree murder in April of this year. Yates also claimed that he engaged in “self defence” during his argument with William Yates in April of this year. Ebert will be going through a competency examination to see if he can stand trial in the aforementioned case, according to a recent story published by The Baltimore Banner. This ruling comes after Ebert declared during a recent hearing that “every part of the police report is a lie” and added, “I did not commit a crime.“

Mark Sobel, Ebert’s own lawyer, brought up “significant concerns regarding competency” with his client, which prompted the competency evaluation. Ebert, on the other hand, claims to be “perfectly competent” and is accused of alleging financial wrongdoing with his prior legal counsel in addition to putting forth a conspiracy theory that his lawyer was working with the prosecution.
