A video documenting an incident involving the lead vocalist of Turnstile, Brendan Yates, initiating the removal of a security personnel during a live performance has garnered significant attention, as per theprp. This visual evidence, disseminated via the r/hardcore Reddit platform, depicts Yates directly engaging with the security contingent to facilitate the individual’s dismissal. Subsequently, Yates publicly affirmed that the security staff member was purportedly observed physically assaulting an audience member who had transgressed the barrier. Accounts from concert attendees further suggest that the aforementioned individual had attempted to access the performance stage. Following an intermission for direct communication with the security contingent, Yates returned to the stage to engage the assembled audience.
To the security that’s doing a great job, a great job at what you’re doing — thank you. There are some that didn’t get the assignment. And I know that all of you are coming up here and trying to have a good time, and it’s high energy, and there’s movement. And there’s no need for anyone to be swinging on anyone just coming over the barrier. That security guard cannot be here. [We] won’t play if he’s still here. And the rest, thank you for adjusting, and keeping this peaceful.

Emerging from Baltimore’s vibrant hardcore community in 2010, Turnstile rapidly established themselves through early Reaper Records EP releases “Pressure to Succeed” (2011) and “Step 2 Rhythm” (2013). The group unleashed their debut full-length effort, “Nonstop Feeling”, on January 13, 2015 via Reaper, having tracked the project at Salad Days Studios under the direction of producer Brian McTernan. To promote the LP, the band embarked on a bi-coastal headlining trek alongside Superheaven before sharing the stage with pop-punk veterans New Found Glory on their Spring 2015 tour. Following those extensive touring cycles, founding guitarist Sean Cullen departed the lineup, prompting the addition of Pat McCrory from fellow Baltimore hardcore outfit Angel Dust.
