Turnstile’s free benefit concert in Washington, D.C. on October 24 drew an estimated 60,000 people, according to figures reported by event organizers. The Baltimore hardcore band performed near the Washington Monument to support relief efforts in Palestine, Sudan and Lebanon.

The event was arranged in partnership with Human Concern International, which is collecting donations through a dedicated LaunchGood campaign. By the time of this report on October 25, the campaign page displayed more than $230,000 raised. That total is live and may change; the estimated audience figure has not been independently audited.

Frontman Brendan Yates addressed the crowd during a set that included “BIRDS,” “MYSTERY,” “HOLIDAY,” “BLACKOUT” and “NEVER ENOUGH.” The performance also followed the band’s earlier announcement of the humanitarian fundraiser and rounded off its current North American concert run.

Emerging from Baltimore’s vibrant hardcore community in 2010, Turnstile rapidly established themselves through early Reaper Records EP releases “Pressure to Succeed” (2011) and “Step 2 Rhythm” (2013). The group unleashed their debut full-length effort, “Nonstop Feeling”, on January 13, 2015 via Reaper, having tracked the project at Salad Days Studios under the direction of producer Brian McTernan. To promote the LP, the band embarked on a bi-coastal headlining trek alongside Superheaven before sharing the stage with pop-punk veterans New Found Glory on their Spring 2015 tour. Following those extensive touring cycles, founding guitarist Sean Cullen departed the lineup, prompting the addition of Pat McCrory from fellow Baltimore hardcore outfit Angel Dust.
