In celebration of the 30th anniversary of their platinum-certified debut EP “Opiate“, enigmatic alternative metal icons Tool recorded a new version of the effort’s title track. That song, “Opiate2” recently saw a digital release and is now followed by an accompanying short film.
That visual accompaniment marks the band’s first proper video offering in roughly 15 years and was put together by visual artist Dominic Hailstone (‘Alien: Covenant‘, ‘The Eel‘) with Tool‘s own guitarist Adam Jones overseeing the process.
A 3 minute peek at that video has newly premiered online below, with the full video available via a newly released Blu-ray for the updated take on that song. You can purchase that Blu-ray here.
Furthermore, an ultra deluxe vinyl pressing of the group’s latest album, “Fear Inoculum“, will meet an April 08th release.
