System Of A Down performed live this week at London, England’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as part of their ongoing European/UK tour, as per theprp. Guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian took several jabs at Oasis during two different performances. When guitarist/vocalist Noel Gallagher made fun of the Armenian-American nu metal group in an interview in the early 2000s, the latter well-known British rock group started a dispute with System of A Down.
I’m actually alive to hear the shittiest band of all time.
Malakian launched a fresh attack on that long-simmering animosity on July 13th, rewriting the notorious lyrics of System Of A Down‘s 2001 song “Needles” as a jab at Oasis. Malakian took the time to ask the crowd to participate in the following lyrical substitution before the song began.
London, do you have an ass? I said, do you have an ass? Everybody say Ass! Ass! Ass! We have a little song about a tapeworm. Just for fun today, I’m going to name the tapeworm. Today I’m gonna name the tapeworm ‘Oasis’.

In 1994, the Armenian-American heavy metal group System of a Down was founded in Glendale, California. Serj Tankian (lead vocals, keyboards), Daron Malakian (guitar, vocals), Shavo Odadjian (bass), and John Dolmayan (drums), who took Andy Khachaturian’s position, have been the band’s original members since 1997. Three of the band’s five studio albums debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, demonstrating their commercial success. In addition to receiving four Grammy Award nominations, System of a Down‘s song “B.Y.O.B.” took home the Best Hard Rock Performance Grammy in 2006. Many of their songs tackle social and political concerns, including the war on drugs, the prison industrial complex, and anti-war themes.
