Shavo Odadjian, the bassist for System Af A Down, has been cast as “R.H. Martin” in the upcoming second season of “Dexter: Resurrection”, as per theprp. Based on the screencap posted above, Odadjian seems to be in a tight place with the titular vigilante serial killer. Although the season’s release date has not yet been revealed, it is anticipated to debut on Paramount+ later this year. The show’s executive producer, Marcos Siega, recently unveiled a number of images from the forthcoming season, including the one with Odadjian. Siega began his career creating music videos for Quicksand, Anthrax, and other artists. Among his notable accomplishments is directing the renowned music video for System Of A Down‘s song “Chop Suey!.”

In 1994, the Armenian-American heavy metal group System of a Down was founded in Glendale, California. Serj Tankian (lead vocals, keyboards), Daron Malakian (guitar, vocals), Shavo Odadjian (bass), and John Dolmayan (drums), who took Andy Khachaturian’s position, have been the band’s original members since 1997. Three of the band’s five studio albums debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, demonstrating their commercial success. In addition to receiving four Grammy Award nominations, System of a Down‘s song “B.Y.O.B.” took home the Best Hard Rock Performance Grammy in 2006.
Many of their songs tackle social and political topics, such as the anti-war message in “B.Y.O.B.” and the critique of the prison industrial complex and the war on drugs in “Prison Song.” They are well-known for their politically charged lyrics. After taking a break in 2006, the band got back together in 2010. System of a Down hasn’t put out any new music since the “Mezmerize” and “Hypnotize” albums in 2005, with the exception of two new tracks in 2020 (“Protect the Land” and “Genocidal Humanoidz“). Two of the band’s hits, “Aerials” and “Hypnotise,” peaked at number one on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart, and the group has sold over 12 million albums worldwide. Every member of System of a Down has Armenian ancestry, whether they were born to Armenian immigrants or immigrants themselves.
