Another song by System Of A Down has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify

The third and last single from System Of A Down‘s 6x nu metal classic album “Toxicity,” “Aerials,” is the band’s most recent addition to the billions club on Spotify, as per theprp. On the aforementioned digital service provider, that song recently became the band’s fourth overall to achieve that achievement. The last time “Aerials” received a 2x platinum certification in the US was on July 19, 2022. Two additional songs from “Toxicity” have also reached that milestone. The band’s iconic single “Chop Suey” has already had 2 billion plays on the platform, while the album’s title track has received 1.6 billion.

As of the time of publication, “Lonely Day,” the last single from their 2005 studio album “Hypnotise,” is the only other song by the band to reach the billions on Spotify. Two more hard rock/metal classics have just joined the billions club: Led Zeppelin‘s “Immigrant Song” and AC/DC’s “T.N.T.” Ozzy Osbourne‘s “Crazy Train” are among the most recent to receive certification.

In 1994, the Armenian-American heavy metal group System Of A Down was founded in Glendale, California. Serj Tankian (lead vocals, keyboards), Daron Malakian (guitar, vocals), Shavo Odadjian (bass), and John Dolmayan (drums), who took Andy Khachaturian’s position, have been the band’s original members since 1997. Three of the band’s five studio albums debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, demonstrating their commercial success. In addition to receiving four Grammy Award nominations, System Of A Down’s song “B.Y.O.B.” took home the Best Hard Rock Performance Grammy in 2006.
