Actor and musician Jack Black took the stage at the Tom Morello-organized “Power To The People” festival in Columbia, Maryland, uniting with his young collaborators from the “Back To The Beginning” project: Roman Morello, Revel Ian, Yoyoka Soma, and Hugo Weiss, as per theprp. Performing under the moniker “Jack Sabbath,” the group delivered a heavy set dedicated to the catalogs of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. Their performance featured covers of Osbourne‘s solo classic “Mr. Crowley” as well as Sabbath’s “The Wizard,” culminating in a heavy-hitting rendition of “War Pigs” that brought out legendary Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler as a special guest. The entire “Power To The People” event was broadcast globally via a free YouTube livestream.

System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian joined Morello to perform their joint track “Adjourn It” before taking lead vocals on a cover of Audioslave‘s classic “Like A Stone.” The set also staged a mini Prophets Of Rage reunion as Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill‘s B-Real took the stage alongside Morello. Further highlights included RUN-D.M.C.’s DMC joining for “It’s Tricky,” a Public Enemy tribute featuring key members of the iconic hip-hop group, and a high-energy rendition of KISS‘s “Rock And Roll All Nite” anchored by Foo Fighters‘ Dave Grohl. The collaborative marathon was further bolstered by appearances from Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, Cypress Hill’s Sen Dog, Jack Black, Public Enemy‘s Flavor Flav, and grandson.
