GRAMMY Award-winning rock icons System Of A Down will celebrate the 25th anniversary of “Toxicity” with a week-long exhibition at BEYOND THE STREETS in Los Angeles, opening Tuesday, October 13, inviting fans to step inside the immersive world of an album that has become a defining pillar of modern rock.
Released on September 4, 2001, “Toxicity” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Deemed SPIN’s album of the year, it quickly became a cultural touchstone, giving voice to a generation entering a rapidly changing world.

In 1994, the Armenian-American heavy metal group System Of A Down was founded in Glendale, California. Serj Tankian (lead vocals, keyboards), Daron Malakian (guitar, vocals), Shavo Odadjian (bass), and John Dolmayan (drums), who took Andy Khachaturian’s position, have been the band’s original members since 1997. Three of the band’s five studio albums debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, demonstrating their commercial success. In addition to receiving four Grammy Award nominations, System Of A Down’s song “B.Y.O.B.” took home the Best Hard Rock Performance Grammy in 2006.
