System Of A Down release 25th anniversary edition of “Toxicity”

Today marks the official 25th anniversary of System of A Down‘s seminal sophomore album, “Toxicity”, as per theprp. Through their official website, the band has released a brand-new, festive vinyl pressing of that record. The band is still benefiting from that album, which was certified 7x platinum in the US late last month. Additionally, the record’s blockbuster hit single, “Chop Suey!” was just certified diamond status (10x platinum) in the US last week, making it their first song to reach that level.

The printing includes a seven-inch version of the album’s b-side tune, “Johnny,” as well as a properly labelled hidden bonus track, “Der Voghormia,” which is frequently confused with “Arto.” Revolvermag.com offers a different pressing of “Toxicity” made of obsidian marble. Additionally, a new CD version of the record was just released.

In 1994, the Armenian-American heavy metal group System Of A Down was founded in Glendale, California. Serj Tankian (lead vocals, keyboards), Daron Malakian (guitar, vocals), Shavo Odadjian (bass), and John Dolmayan (drums), who took Andy Khachaturian’s position, have been the band’s original members since 1997. Three of the band’s five studio albums debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, demonstrating their commercial success. In addition to receiving four Grammy Award nominations, System Of A Down’s song “B.Y.O.B.” took home the Best Hard Rock Performance Grammy in 2006.
