The Smashing Pumpkins reveal tour for the 30th anniversary of “Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness”

On May 17, the veteran alternative music group The Smashing Pumpkins held a livestreamed event called “Farewell To Zero: A Private Requiem With The Smashing Pumpkins”, as per theprp. With eulogies and accolades, the hybrid event, which combined elements of a performance and a fictional memorial ceremony, said goodbye to the “Zero” image that band vocalist Billy Corgan had established in the 1990s. The event, which took place at the American Legion Post 43 in Los Angeles, California, included a live performance prior to the band’s announcement of an arena tour to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their diamond-certified double album, “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness,” from 1995. At the conclusion of that livestreamed event, which also featured a merchandise drop, the tour known as “The Rats In A Cage Tour” was revealed.
