Established in 2005, Austria’s Nova Rock Festival has become a premier annual staple of the European rock circuit every June. Held in Burgenland—Austria’s easternmost state near Nickelsdorf, close to the Hungarian and Slovak borders—the festival is organized by Nova Music Entertainment, a joint venture formed by Musicnet, FKP Scorpio, and former Wiesen bookers. Like many major European live events, the festival was forced to pause operations in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic before returning to its regular annual schedule.
