Dutch rock and metal veterans The Gathering are ending their nine-year recording hiatus with a new album. The band has recorded a new album entitled “Beautiful Distortion”.

There are no further details about the album itself, such as a track list or release date, but these will be revealed soon. The album was produced by Attie Bauw, who produced the band’s albums “How To Measure A Planet?” and “Home”.

“‘Beautiful Distortion’ is a typical eclectic The Gathering album, although it may be our most dynamic and melodic album to date. The Gathering’s signature atmospheric and electronic rock sound is topped with the warm Nordic vocal lines by Silje Wergeland, the band says.

The band’s previous studio album “Afterwords” was released in 2013.
