Wacken Open Air 2026: Pictures of the first day

Day one of Wacken’s 35th anniversary edition brought heat and dust instead of the mud we’ve come to expect, but the energy on the ground never dipped. Lovebites and The Hardkiss opened at full throttle, before The Gathering turned the Infield into something closer to memory lane, with Anneke van Giersbergen back on the mic for their “Mandylion” anniversary show. Crypt Sermon, Kadavar, The Troops of Doom and Rose Tattoo carried the night home.
