Sleep Token issue rare statement denying ties to other musical projects using their name

Sleep Token have issued a rare public statement distancing themselves from other musical projects claiming to have connections to the mysterious British metal band. The group says it has not authorized anyone to use its name or reputation to promote outside projects.

The statement is unusually direct for a band that has built much of its identity around anonymity and limited public communication.

“A word, for the sake of clarity,” the message begins. “Sleep Token has no affiliation with any outside musical project that invokes this name, nor with anyone who uses it to promote one.”

“Such claims are not made with our blessing and are not endorsed by Sleep Token,” the statement continues. “What is ours is here, and here alone.”

The band did not identify any particular artist or project as the target of the announcement. However, fans have speculated that the message could be connected to Arcus, a mysterious new musical project that appeared online in September with a teaser video.

Some fans have claimed that Arcus previously described itself as a project “from the co-creator of Sleep Token”. Those claims have not been independently confirmed, and Arcus’ current social media biographies do not mention any connection to Vessel’s band.

The announcement has attracted particular attention because Sleep Token have remained largely inactive throughout 2026. Their most recent live performance took place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on October 11, 2025, and they have not released new music since their 2025 album “Even In Arcadia”.

The album achieved major international success, reaching the top of album charts in multiple countries and further establishing Sleep Token as one of the most commercially successful contemporary heavy music acts. Chaoszine previously covered the band’s commercial achievements.

No new music or live performances have been announced, and the group has not provided any further explanation of the statement. For now, the identity of the outside project or projects being addressed remains unclear.
