The nominees for the American Music Awards are out now

The 2026 “American Music Awards” nominees have been revealed, as per theprp. Metal and hard rock will be mostly ignored this year in any of the main categories, including album of the year, song of the year, etc., as is the case with the majority of U.S. industry awards events. But among this year’s contenders, there are a few well-known faces. This year’s nominees included rising masked British alternative metal band Sleep Token, nu metal superstars Linkin Park, and alternative metal pioneers Deftones. With its imposing Castle Grayskull-like theme, Sleep Token’s grandiose first-ever U.S. headlining tour has also been able to secure a nod in the “Breakout Tour” category on its own.
