Lost Society frontman Samy Elbanna offered advice to aspiring musicians in a Chaoszine video interview, urging them to create opportunities rather than waiting to be discovered.

Elbanna recalled deciding at seven that he wanted to play in a band. His earliest achievements were finding a rehearsal space, meeting fellow musicians and writing songs. As an underage performer, he and his friends organised their own youth-centre festival when bar gigs were not an option.

“I’m living proof that if you apply yourself and put in the hard work, it’s going to pay off in one way or another. When I was seven, I decided I was going to be in a band. Then came the little victories: finding a rehearsal place, meeting the guys and writing a song. Create opportunities. I was underage when we played our first shows, so we couldn’t play bars. We found a youth centre, created a festival and brought our friends there. Don’t wait for someone to find you. Be proactive and practice. Literally put in the hours. Especially now, everyone’s looking for a shortcut, but you have to put in the work. We’re sold dreams of overnight success, but the downside is that when you’re at the top, there’s usually only one way to go, and that’s down, unless you can maintain the momentum. Work hard, have passion and use it to make art. Don’t make it from a dishonest point of view. Do something you’re excited about, that you would listen to or watch and that you’ll still be proud of years later.”

His advice emphasises consistent practice and making music that feels authentic rather than chasing instant success. Alongside fronting Lost Society, Elbanna has also performed Children of Bodom material. Lost Society have previously announced touring with HOKKA.
