Reissue of the Finnish band Serpico’s album “The Chosen Four”

Author Päivi Närvänen - 17.12.2025

Originating from Pori, Finland, the rock band Serpico is stirring up a bit of the past and re-released their 2022 album “The Chosen Four”. The new edition is available digitally through the band’s current label, Golden Robot Records, and includes a previously unheard bonus track “Heat Of The Moment”. A fully analog vinyl pressing is also on the way — something that fans have been anticipating for a long time.

“The Chosen Four” was produced and recorded by Anssi Kippo of Astia-studio, under whose guidance Serpico felt they finally discovered the sound they had long been aiming for. During the album’s recording sessions, Kassu Halonen, one of the most notable figures in Finnish pop and rock history, also visited the studio. He was inspired by Serpico’s energy, and his contribution can be heard on the track “Last Days of Monopoly.”

According to Serpico, the mood surrounding the re-release is as follows:

It’s truly great that our current record label liked this album as well and wants to re-release it on streaming services with a bonus track. Hopefully it will reach new listeners who’ll enjoy it! And best of all, the long-awaited vinyl copies are finally coming in the next few weeks. According to the current estimate from Timmion Cutting, they should be available right after Epiphany. Our sincere apologies to everyone who pre-ordered the vinyl and has had to wait. We’re really unhappy about the situation too, even though it wasn’t caused by us but entirely by another party. Because of this, we decided to raffle off one of the “The Chosen Four” test pressings with signatures among all pre-order customers. Everyone else will receive a small bonus item with the vinyl; I don’t yet know what it will be, but we’ll figure it out soon.

Thank you to all fans of Serpico’s music for this year as well! The newest album “Dressed in Flesh” has been streamed very well, and we’re currently negotiating the first physical release, which will initially come out only in the US market. The plan is to release it later in Europe too, but there haven’t been further discussions about that yet. And for collectors: at some point both albums will also be released as fully analog cassette editions. Let’s hope our booking agent, Niklas, can secure plenty of shows for us in Finland next year! After that, we’ll turn our eyes to other continents and try to find ourselves there.
