If you didn’t get your copy of “Look Outside Your Window” by Slipknot, now here’s your chance

“Look Outside Your Window” finally made its debut on April 18th of this year as part of the yearly “Record Store Day” celebration, following years of delays, as per theprp. Originally developed during the recordings for Slipknot‘s 2008 album “All Hope Is Gone,” that album was long delayed. The 10-song album was not considered an official Slipknot release; instead, it was recorded independently, with sessions held in a different location just outside the main studio sessions for “All Hope Is Gone.” Even though it doesn’t have the name of the Iowan masked metal phenomenon, it undoubtedly has a lot of their ancestry because DJ Sid Wilson, guitarist Jim Root, percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan, and singer Corey Taylor of Slipknot used the project to experiment with various artistic endeavours.

That record, which was released under the “Look Outside Your Window” banner last month, was the result of several unsuccessful tentative release plans. However, because it was limited to vinyl formats sold through independent record merchants, that arrival did pose some difficulties for enthusiastic fans. Plans are already in place for the record’s formal June 12th broad release, which will include a CD format release as well as several new vinyl pressings. Digital versions are expected to follow. Pre-orders for this eagerly anticipated project are currently available through the shop.lookoutsideyourwindow.com.

Yes, it is definitely closing a chapter in that maybe it should have come out a long time ago, but Slipknot always stopped the forward motion of it because we’d be in an album cycle and releasing it would have disrupted both things. So I finally put my foot down, and everybody’s like, ‘It’s about time.’

I love this album so much. I know people are going to love it and I’ve accepted that it’s going to get confused [with Slipknot]. But it’ll also open up the next generation of ‘Look Outside Your Window‘. – M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan
