63 bands have already been confirmed for Summer Breeze 2027

The Summer Breeze Open Air 2026 is in full swing—and how! After a smooth arrival and a successful warm-up with concerts and parties on the Campsite Circus Stage, the infield opened at noon today, and the festival is in full swing. While a partial solar eclipse could be seen in the sky, the grounds are filled with partying, rocking out, and, of course, plenty of headbanging—the atmosphere couldn’t be better for the kickoff.

“We’re thrilled that the start of SUMMER BREEZE 2026 went so smoothly, that our guests arrived safely, and that the first musical highlights are already setting the mood perfectly,” said the Summer Breeze organizing team led by founder Achim Ostertag.

As is tradition, the music program kicked off in the afternoon with the Illenschwang brass band on the T-Stage, before acts including Airbourne, Betontod, and Excrementory Grindfuckers continued to heat things up.

Shortly before In Flames’ headlining set, Summer Breeze surprised the fans in attendance with a major announcement that sent the excitement soaring once again and has already sparked plenty of anticipation for next year: 63 bands have already been confirmed for SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2027!

“In 2027, we’ll be celebrating 30 years of Summer Breeze—three decades full of music, friendships, and unforgettable moments. We’re incredibly grateful for this and look forward to celebrating this special anniversary together with everyone next year,” says Ostertag.

A real highlight of the first wave of line-ups is undoubtedly Summer Breeze Legends & Orchestra. As the Summer Breeze Open Air celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2027, it will be bringing the greatest metal classics to the stage in an extraordinary show.

An all-star line-up, the 40-piece Leipzig Philharmonic Orchestra and numerous guest stars will come together on the Main Stage to perform the defining songs of great metal artists. Arranged by Chris Harms and Corvin Bahn, the result will be a unique sonic spectacle, conceived especially for the anniversary year. Over the course of 2.5 hours, the Summer Breeze Legends & Orchestra show will celebrate the history of metal whilst paying tribute to 30 years of SUMMER BREEZE – an extraordinary evening for all metal fans and a unique opportunity to experience this combination of an all-star band, orchestra and guest stars live.
