Zeal & Ardor announce 10th anniversary edition of their album “Devil Is Fine”
In honour of its tenth anniversary, Zeal & Ardor‘s 2016 debut album has undergone a new mastering, as per theprp. The band recently unexpectedly released a sonically enhanced version of the record, titled “Devil Is Fine X,” along with five more tracks. Pre-orders for its vinyl and CD release on September 9th are currently available at this link. Orders placed thru that shop today will 100% help the band and rightsholders because, as of the time of publication, it is also Bandcamp Friday.
After an entire decade it is with love and pride that we announce DEVIL IS FINE X. A remaster of our first album featuring 5 never officially released tracks.
The physical release comes as a CD or a limited run of purple/green burst vinyl.
We are enormously pleased with how it has turned out and what it stands for.
The riverbed, now as ever, will run red.

Manuel Gagneux, a Swiss-American musician who previously founded the chamber pop group Birdmask, founded and is the leader of the Swiss avant-garde metal band Zeal & Ardor. The band was formed in 2013 and combines black metal and African-American spiritual elements. After signing with MVKA Records in 2016, the band—which had previously been a solo endeavor—grew to include Gagneux on vocals and guitar, backing vocalists Denis Wagner and Marc Obrist, guitarist Tiziano Volante, bassist Mia Rafaela Dieu, and drummer Marco Von Allmen. Later, Lukas Kurmann took Dieu’s place. In addition to the demo album “Zeal and Ardor” (2014), Zeal & Ardor has published the albums “Devil Is Fine” (2016), “Stranger Fruit” (2018), “Zeal & Ardor” (2022), and “Greif” (2024). They released their debut EP in 2020, “Wake of a Nation”.
