Ville Valo says he would like to play with HIM again: “It would be cool to play together again”

Ville Valo, frontman of the legendary rock band HIM, today released the single “Loveletting” from his new solo project VV. It is a taste of VV’s upcoming album, which will be released in 2023.

Ville Valo also gave an interview to Finnish Ilta-Sanomat about the release. In the interview, Valo was asked whether HIM could still possibly make a comeback.

Valo did not reject the idea outright, but commented that he would be interested in playing with HIM again some day:

“Have any of the bands that have returned been good? Personally, I’ve hoped for the return of many bands, but have been disappointed when those bands have returned as fumbling versions of what they were at their best,” Valo says, and continues:
“With HIM, I’ve always thought it would be cool to play together again sometime. But not yet. We were together from teenagers to middle age, we grew up together.”

HIM played their last gig in 2017.
