Tuska Open Air announces more bands: Mercyful Fate added to bill

Author Arto Mäenpää - 15.10.2021

Besides the iconic Mercyful Fate, new additions to the Tuska 2022 festival roster include Amorphis, Stam1na, Baroness, Lost Society, Blind Channel, Red Fang, Elder and Shape Of Despair. Tuska will take place at Suvilahti, Helsinki, Finland on July 1–3, 2022.

Perhaps the most legendary and iconic of them all, Mercyful Fate is back. The band will play a handful of carefully selected shows throughout Europe during summer 2022, and we are extremely proud to announce that Tuska is one of them.

Mercyful Fate was formed in Denmark in 1981 by guitarist Hank Shermann and vocalist King Diamond. The group’s classic metal with a progressive twist and lyrics themed around occultism and satanism quickly lifted Mercyful Fate to a cult status.

Other newly confirmed acts for Tuska 2022 include Finnish greats Amorphis and Stam1na, American stoner prowess of Baroness, Red Fang and Elder, Finnish youth attack of Lost Society, high flying Blind Channel and Finnish funeral doom masters Shape Of Despair.

Confirmed acts for Tuska 2022:

Korn, Mercyful Fate, Deftones, Amorphis, Devin Townsend, Heilung, Stam1na, Beast In Black, Symphony X, Mokoma, Baroness, Eluveitie, Jinjer, Lost Society, Blind Channel, Perturbator, Red Fang, Elder, High On Fire, Vltimas, Oranssi Pazuzu, Wheel, Lähiöbotox, Shape Of Despair.

More bands and show days will be announced later.

3-day tickets are now available at Tiketti, Ticketmaster, Lippu.fi and Festicket. Other ticket categories will be available later.
