Guitar legend Tony Iommi has broken his silence regarding Black Sabbath’s upcoming farewell performance. The founding member took to social media to express his feelings about the band’s last stand in their hometown.
“Looking back over five decades of music, the story of Sabbath is coming full circle in Aston. Having our musical peers join us for this celebration means the world to me. I have to acknowledge my bandmates – Ozzy, Geezer, and Bill – because Sabbath was always about our collective spirit. Together we built something extraordinary, and that legacy will live on long after our final bow.”
It’s been an incredible journey, but it’s only fitting that it ends here, where it all began in Aston. It’s great to be honoured by your fellow musicians and at the same time support good causes. None of this would’ve been possible without Ozzy, Geezer, and Bill. What we created… pic.twitter.com/GGjOA8Xyoa
