‘Power To The People’ festival reveals additional wave of bands

Author Benedetta Baldin - 17.9.2026

Tom Morello, guitarist for Rage Against The Machine, is in charge of the upcoming protest-music-focused event “Power To The People,” which has increased its lineup, as per theprp. The Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, will host that event on October 3. Despite the event’s official description as “a non-partisan celebration of peace, justice, solidarity, music, and community action,” several of the musicians on the lineup are well-known for openly expressing their political opinions. Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, Nathaniel Rateliff, Stephen Stills, State Radio, and The Last Internationale are some of the most recent participants.

Yoyoka Soma, Hugo Weiss, Scott Ian’s son Revel (also of XCOMM), Tom’s son Roman Morello, and actor/musician Jack Black will all be playing at the event. Although that group was originally listed as one of the artists, it has since been disclosed that they will be performing at this event under the name Jack Sabbath. They had previously recorded a rendition of Ozzy Osbourne‘s “Mr. Crowley,” which was featured in the Ozzy/Black Sabbath farewell, “Back To The Beginning,” last year. It’s reasonable to presume that they will perform some Sabbath songs during the festival given their new name.
