Australian deathcore heavyweights Thy Art Is Murder have officially launched a new chapter with the release of their latest single, “Squeeze”, accompanied by a music video. The track marks the recording debut of the band’s new vocalist, Jerry Grimefeld, who joined the group earlier this year.
Released through the band’s own Human Warfare label, “Squeeze” was recorded with Grammy Award-winning producer Will Putney, while the accompanying music video was directed by BRXDA.
The new single introduces Grimefeld’s guttural vocal style through a combination of punishing deathcore riffs, unsettling atmospheres and aggressive rhythms.
Although “Squeeze” marks Grimefeld’s first officially released recording with Thy Art Is Murder, the vocalist has already spent several months performing with the band.
He made his live debut at Melbourne’s Life’s A Beach festival earlier in 2026 before joining the group for their European summer festival appearances. His arrival was initially kept under wraps, prompting speculation among fans about the identity of the band’s new frontman.
Speaking about joining Thy Art Is Murder, Grimefeld explained that the band had played a major role in shaping his musical career.
Thy Art Is Murder has influenced me more than any other band in the world. ‘Hate‘ sent me down the path I’m on today, so being part of this band now is surreal. I’m blessed to be here, and I can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on. We’re about to get ignorant with it.
The release of “Squeeze” offers fans their first opportunity to hear the band’s current lineup on newly recorded material. While the group have been working on music between tours, they have not yet announced a new studio album or release date.
Alongside the new single, Thy Art Is Murder have announced three intimate headline concerts in Australia this December.
The shows will mark Grimefeld’s first Australian headline tour as the band’s vocalist and conclude the group’s live activities for 2026.
Tickets go on sale on Thursday, November 5, at 9:00 a.m. AEDT, through the band’s official website.
The upcoming concerts will give Australian fans the opportunity to experience the band’s new lineup in smaller venues following its appearances on the European festival circuit.
With “Squeeze”, Thy Art Is Murder are introducing the next phase of their career, offering an early indication of the music they have been developing with Grimefeld behind the microphone.
