The Smile drops new song “Bending Hectic”

English rock band The Smile —featuring Radiohead members Thom Yorke (vocals, guitar, bass, keys) and Jonny Greenwood (guitar, bass, keys) with drummer Tom Skinner— have officially released the new song “Bending Hectic“, which you can listen to below. The group had previously debuted it at the Montreux Jazz Festival last year.

“Bending Hectic” is the band’s first single since the release of their debut, “A Light for Attracting Attention”, in 2022. The Smile did not include the song on its Montreaux Jazz Festival live album.

The UK trio recorded the studio version of the track at London’s Abbey Road Studios this year. Sam Petts-Davies—who’s worked with Thom Yorke, Radiohead, Frank Ocean, and more—produced the track while the London Contemporary Orchestra played strings.
