The bad luck of SaariHelvetti: Abbath and more cancel performances

On August 14, Abbath abruptly cancelled their performance at the “SaariHelvetti Festival” in Viikinsaari, Tampere, Finland, as per theprp. That choice was made in the middle of “To War!” the opening song. Abbath Doom Occulta, the namesake of the black metal band, threw down his guitar and stormed offstage during the performance of that song. Unlike his bandmates, who maintained their usual appearances, Occulta significantly abandoned his customary corpse paint and stage clothes for this concert. Ukri Suvilehto, the drummer for the group, then spoke to the crowd. In the past, Abbath Doom Occulta has struggled with sobriety and had similarly abrupt and chaotic performances. What health problems led to this most recent shortened set, however, is unknown.

Let’s just say that it probably won’t come as a surprise to anyone that our lead singer is struggling with health problems, so we’re very sorry if this gig has been interrupted. But we, as solid professionals, are prepared for anything, so we’ll see. But thank you and sorry. We have done everything we can.

Attendees of the event were unfortunately treated to some other bad luck. Gutalax were supposed to perform, but due to transportation issue their set was canceled. Cumbeast was added as a last-minute substitute.

Dear SaariHelvetti Festival , unfortunately, our tomorrow’s flight to Helsinki was cancelled by Finnair without any reason and we have no other possible connection that would help us to get to you on time. We are very sorry, guys, but we can’t play tomorrow. We were really looking forward to dance with all of you, unfortunately, Finnair decided differently. Our bros in Cumbeast will be playing instead of us tomorrow, show them your love.
