Abbath cancel all upcoming performances

Bad news for black metal fans: Abbath have just released a statement in which they said that all upcoming shows have been canceled.

Abbath have made the decision to cancel all remaining shows for 2026.

In April 2015, Metal Hammer reported that Abbath Doom Occulta had assembled a new lineup, including King ov Hell from God Seed and drummer Creature. Additionally, Vredehammer guitarist and vocalist Per Valla was brought on to tour with the band as the lead guitarist. The group planned to enter a recording studio later that year to work on their debut album, scheduled for release in 2016. During their first performance at Tuska Open Air 2015, they played a completed track titled “Fenrir Hunts,” which would appear on the upcoming debut album. Their self-titled debut album, “Abbath”, was released on January 22, 2016, via Season of Mist. On December 12, 2015, it was announced that drummer Creature had left the band.

Several days later, on December 15th, live member Per Valla departed from the band. At the beginning of 2016, Gabe Seeber, wearing the Creature mask, joined as the live drummer, replacing Creature Kevin Foley. Ole André Farstad, who played on the debut album, stepped in as the live guitarist, filling the spot left by Per Valla. On October 6, 2016, Abbath announced via their Facebook page that they were working on their second album, scheduled for release in 2017. On July 11, 2018, King ov Hell left the band due to disagreements over the lyrical concepts of the upcoming album. Emil Wiksten also parted ways shortly afterward. On March 14, 2019, the band revealed that their second studio album, “Outstrider”, would be released on July 5, 2019. They also announced a new lineup that recorded the album and would perform live, featuring drummer Ukri Suvilehto, guitarist Raud, and bassist Mia Wallace.
