Spanish festival Barcelona Rock Fest has closed its lineup today with the addition of one of the most relevant metal bands of all time: Pantera. After more than two decades without performing in that city, this will be Pantera‘s only concert in Spain.

The event, which will take place in Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona) on 5, 6 and 7 July, has just confirmed the performance of the American heavy metal quartet led by Philip Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown, accompanied by Zakk Wylde on guitar and Charlie Benante on drums, for Saturday, 6 July. Grab your tickets here.

New confirmations have also been announced, such as the presence of Ratos De Porão, considered one of the icons of Brazilian hardcore punk, and the set of some of the most authentic references of Germanic power metal, Primal Fear.

And continuing along this musical path, but from Spain, the audience will enjoy the hymns of the Asturian band Warcry. Another suggestion to consider in this year’s edition is the addition of Soziedad Alkoholika, one of the most emblematic bands on the Spanish scene, with its always critical and powerful spirit. The Vitoria-based act will be presenting their new album “Confrontación” at the festival.

From Santa Coloma de Gramenet and as the local band chosen to play this year, some classics of the Barcelona punk scene join the line-up: Motosierras. Barcelona Rock Fest also adds to its line up the essential Spanish metal classics Ángeles del Infierno. They are responsible for “Pacto con el diablo”, undoubtedly one of the best Spanish heavy metal albums in living memory. The frenetic thrash metal of Barcelona’s Terminal Violence, considered one of the essential bands of the genre along with Angelus Apatrida, Crisix or Legion, is another of the latest additions to the line-up. The newcomers also include the original Finnish folk metal band Korpiklaani.

Previously confirmed artists are Gamma Ray, KK’s Priest, Hatebreed, El Drogas, Thy Art Is Murder, The Warning, The Baboon Show, Abbath, Sodom, Dark Funeral, Crownshift, Kontrust, Asomvel, Electric Alley, Mapogos, Metallijam and Motorhits.

They join internationally renowned bands already announced in December such as Deep Purple, Parkway Drive, Europe, Michael Schenker, Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, Rhapsody Of Fire, Ross The Boss, Wolfmother, Angelus Apatrida, Massive Wagons, Celtica, Eclipse, Bourbon Kings, Cobardes, Ktulu, Ankhara and My Own Ghost.
