Physically enveloping, forebodingly beautiful, and drawing on the animistic spirit of the natural world, “Alone In A World Of Wounds” ploughs a different furrow to what Steve has done before. It is an album of sweeping gothic tinged Americana, tripped out drones, beautiful world weary vocal melodies and slowly unfurling cello arrangements. Put bluntly, fans of the likes of Nick Cave, Talk Talk, PJ Harvey, Low, Mark Lanegan, Brian Eno and the like will want to pay close attention to this record.

Initially inspired by the harmonic resonance of piano and synths and his long-standing love of ambient music, “Alone in a World of Wounds” opens up his voice in ways he has never done before. The record searches for deeper connection, reflects on living with the sorrow of our separation from the natural world, and relying on gut level intuition to get closer to the primal creative state. These aspects are all key to Von Till’s creative process. And while “Alone in a World of Wounds” may be far removed from the caustic aggression of “Neurosis” – the life-giving energy of punk rock and DIY ethic continue to provide deep inspiration and grounding to him.

For these live dates, Steve will be performing with Dave French on synths, percussion and bass, and Brent Arnold on cello with Michaela Lilla Bos of Budapest, filling in cello for the first week of shows.
