Connecticut melodic death metal band Fires in the Distance have released the first single “Of Radiance and Levitation” from their third full-length. “Circadian Promise” will be released on June 12 via Prosthetic Records. The album features new vocalist and guitarist Brendan Hayter and marks the band’s first record since “Air Not Meant For Us” in 2023.

Fires in the Distance reunited with producer Dave Kaminsky and orchestration collaborator Randy Slaugh for the sessions. Slaugh has previously worked with Tesseract and Devin Townsend. Founding guitarist and songwriter Yegor Savonin describes the album as a concept rooted in spiritual death, the loss of self, and an acceptance of life’s bleaker realities. He also notes that each record reflects a distinct period in the band’s personal experiences, with the sound evolving accordingly.

“Circadian Promise” consists of six tracks, some running beyond nine minutes. “Of Radiance and Levitation” is out now across streaming platforms.

Fires in the Distance began as a Savonin solo project in 2016 and developed into a full live band by 2020. Their debut, “Echoes From Deep November,” came out that same year on Prosthetic Records. In 2024, the band completed a North American tour alongside Dark Tranquillity and Amorphis.
