Scorpions postpone their residency in Las Vegas to next year

The 2026 residency of Scorpions at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, has been postponed, as per Blabbermouth. In a social media statement on Wednesday, September 2, Live Nation announced the postponement, claiming “unforeseen circumstances” as the cause for the events’ September 2027 date.

 Scorpions regret to announce that, due to unforeseen circumstances, their upcoming September shows in Las Vegas will need to be postponed. The band is extremely disappointed but looks forward to returning to Las Vegas in September 2027.

Guitarist Rudolf Schenker founded the German hard rock/heavy metal group Scorpions in Hanover in 1965. From 1978 to 1992, Schenker, Klaus Meine (vocals), Matthias Jabs (lead guitar), Francis Buchholz (bass), and Herman Rarebell (drums) made up the band’s longest-running and most successful lineup. Schenker is the only surviving original member of the band, although Meine has been a regular since 1969, Jabs has been a regular since 1978, and drummer Mikkey Dee and bassist Paweł Małciwoda have been with the group since 2003 and 2016, respectively. Michael, Schenker’s younger brother, played lead guitar on the band’s 1972 debut album “Lonesome Crow” before leaving to join UFO.

Uli Jon Roth took his position and performed with the group on their first live album, “Tokyo Tapes” (1978), as well as their first four studio albums, “Fly to the Rainbow” (1974), “In Trance” (1975), “Virgin Killer” (1976), and “Taken by Force” (1977). After Roth left, the band signed Matthias Jabs, and on their sixth studio album, “Lovedrive” (1979), they started to move toward a more melodic rock style. Michael Schenker briefly rejoined Scorpions before leaving once more to pursue a solo career.
