Author Benedetta Baldin - 6.5.2026

Puscifer continues to use visualiser movies to highlight their current comic book series, “Tales From The Pusciverse”, as per theprp. The title track of the alternative rock group’s most recent full-length album, “Normal Isn’t,” serves as the soundtrack for the most recent segment in that series. This comic series, written by Puscifer vocalist Maynard James Keenan, who is also a member of Tool/A Perfect Circle, elaborates on the most recent additions to the ensemble of characters the band has put together for their “pusciverse.” This new footage focuses on the most recent third issue of that comic book series, which appropriately identifies Mat Mitchell, the band’s multi-talented member, as “The Synth Whisperer.”

Umlaut, “a premiere improvisational hardcore band,” was the initial name of Puscifer. Keenan and Adam Jones were members of the fictional band “Puscifer,” which was originally revealed in the first episode of Mr. Show. Although Jones’ artwork has appeared on Puscifer clothing, Jones is not otherwise connected to Puscifer. Puscifer is “just a playground for the different voices in my head, […] a space with no clear or discernible goals, […] where my Id, Ego, and Anima all come together to exchange cookie recipes,” according to Keenan. Additionally, Keenan collaborated with Ford Englerth and Jeffrey Brooks of Red Rock Entertainment Development on short films, which were produced in a style reminiscent to Mr. Show and Tom Waits’ Big Time.

Puscifer is “as much a clothing line as it is a band“; the apparel is made in small quantities. Keenan and Paul Frank worked together on a leather jacket. Keenan announced on the puscifer.com blog on September 16, 2008, that Jerome, Arizona’s first Puscifer store would “hopefully” open by October 1. The store launched on October 3, 2008, in a tiny room above a tattoo parlour. Keenan has made locally roasted coffee, artwork, and an ever-evolving selection of limited edition souvenirs accessible in addition to the stuff on the band’s internet site.
