Priest, featuring former band members of Ghost: Music video for “Dehumanized” released, Mercury reveals his face in an exclusive interview

The Swedish dark 80s style synth-pop band Priest, which partly consists of former band members of the Swedish rock heavyweights Ghost, has released their new single “Dehumanized“, along with a music video. You can check out the video below:

The music video was directed by Claudio Marino (“Artax Film”), who has also directed Priest‘s music videos for “Obey“, “Thieves“, “Nightcrawler” and “Demon’s Call” as well as music videos for bands like Behemoth, Watain, Tribulation, Katatonia, Electric Boys and Sarcator.

Priest comment on the new release as follows:

“It’s is depicting a reckoning with escape — the moment survival wins over poisoned love. ’90s-heavy breakbeats traces the aftermath of a relationship that stripped the narrator down to nothing, and the liberation found on the other side. The song is dedicated to all survivors out there, but also to the multitudes of victims that people with narcissistic personality disorders leave as a trail behind them… It’s time to even out the balance!”

After “Python” and “Minions“, “Dehumanized” is the third single from Priest‘s upcoming 5th studio album “Altered State Police” which will be released on 23 October 2026 via Blue Nine Records and can be pre-ordered here. Coinciding with the release of “Dehumanized“, the interview podcast “Kiss the Needle – Under the Skin with…” has published an exclusive video interview with Priest frontman Mercury, in which he appears unmasked for the first time, thereby revealing his identity:

“SPOILER ALERT! For the first time ever in a public interview, the mastermind behind Priest reveals his face. If you prefer to keep the mystery alive, consider yourself warned. This decision in no way affects the artist’s creative direction or the mystique surrounding Priest.”

The interview, conducted by music producer and artist Leo Josefsson (Unify Separate, Lowe, Statemachine), who also co-produced “Altered State Police”, reveals, amongst other things, which band members of Priest were involved in the lawsuit against Ghost mastermind and frontman Tobias Forge. You can watch the interview below, but as Priest themselves put it: “If you want to keep the mystery complete – please don’t watch!”
