Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish have announced that they are parting ways with longtime vocalist Floor Jansen. The band shared the news in a statement on its official Facebook account, saying the decision was made by mutual agreement.

“After careful consideration, we have, in mutual agreement, decided to part ways,” the band wrote, adding that both sides will pursue their future artistic ambitions separately.

In the statement, Nightwish described the split as the end of a significant chapter and wished Jansen well in her future endeavours.

“For you, dear listener, and indeed for us, this marks the end of a truly great voyage.”

The band also made it clear that Nightwish will continue and revealed plans to enter the studio in 2027 to record a new album.

“Nightwish will continue. We will move forward and enter the studio in 2027 to record a new album.”

Floor Jansen first joined Nightwish on tour in 2012 and became an official member in 2013. She went on to record the studio albums “Endless Forms Most Beautiful”, “Human. :II: Nature.” and “Yesterwynde” with the group.

The announcement comes as Nightwish celebrates its 30th anniversary. The band has not announced a replacement vocalist or provided further details about the reasons behind the split.

The statement was published on Nightwish’s official Facebook page.
