Czech dark pagan folk project NEMUER draws on ancient Mesopotamian incantations calling upon Pazuzu to turn his power against other demons and protect the wearer of the amulet. Set against a desert landscape, the lyrics video evokes the world of this wandering wind demon, while the music brings the distant past into the present, weaving ancient instruments with the raw edge of electric guitar.
The track appears on NEMUER’s forthcoming EP “Seer’s Dreams & Visions”, due November 20, through Velvet Ears, with distribution by Extreme Music, part of Sony Music Publishing, whose roster includes names such as Two Steps From Hell and Hans Zimmer.
Across five tracks, NEMUER explores five ancient cultures, performing in Old Norse, Old Irish, Akkadian, Ancient Egyptian and Ancient Greek. Drawing on myths and legends, prayers, spells and ritual texts, the EP explores journeys between worlds, transformation and the search for a way home.
The EP artwork was created by renowned illustrator The Raven from the North. A limited edition of 250 vinyl copies is available to pre-order through Bandcamp and at NEMUER’s live concerts.
NEMUER will celebrate the EP’s release at Pagan Nights 4 in Prague on November 20.
