On April 23rd, Annexet opened its doors for Kreator and the Krushers of the World Tour. Stockholm showed up for a night of thrash, death metal and pure brutality.
Nails hit the stage first and got straight to the point. The Californian trio plays with a kind of rage that leaves very little room to breathe. Circle pits broke out almost immediately.
Exodus followed with Gary Holt commanding the riffs and Rob Dukes bringing pure ferocity from start to finish. Between songs, Dukes called out the VIP barrier dividing the room: in a show like this, that kind of elitism has no place.
Carcass took things somewhere darker. Classic material sent the pit into full chaos. Waltteri Väyrynen (Opeth) stepped in for the absent Dan Wilding on drums and played like he had been doing it for years. Heartwork closed the set and the room fell apart in the best way.
Then came Kreator and the curtains dropped. Inflatable demons, pyro, masked figures with flaming torches, and Mille Petrozza in black demon wings. A show that felt closer to a ceremony.
