In October, Nails will go to the UK and (part of) Europe for a headline tour, as per theprp. Throughout that run, the Dutch blackened tribal metal punks Invunche and Finnish grindcore group Rotten Sound will accompany the Californian powerviolence band, with other performers making appearances at specific stops. At 11:00 a.m. local time on Friday, July 31st, tickets will be available.
2007 saw the formation of Nails. Since then, they have put out three EPs and four full-length albums. Promoters claimed the band was on hiatus and “had no plans to play live or record again” when they abruptly cancelled a European tour on July 25, 2016. Their appearance at Ozzfest Meets Knotfest was also cancelled as a result of this. The band had never had a break, according to Todd Jones afterward. The group made a comeback in December 2016 by releasing a split 7-inch with Full of Hell and performing at The Power of the Riff festival.
Young declared his departure from the band in early spring on November 30, 2020, after Unsilent Death‘s tenth anniversary reissue was revealed. John Gianelli also announced his exit from the band the next day. Todd Jones is the band’s lone member at this stage.
The band shared a photo of Jones and Kurt Ballou in God City Studios on Instagram following nearly three years of quiet from Jones. The band’s single “Imposing Will” was released on June 10, 2024. At the same time, it was announced that their fourth studio album, “Every Bridge Burning”, will include guitarist Shelby Lermo from Ulthar, drummer Carlos Cruz from Warbringer, and bassist Andrew Solis from Despise You and Apparition. On August 30, 2024, they released “Every Bridge Burning”, their fourth album.
