British death metal legends Carcass arrived at Helsinki Ice Hall on April 21st as part of their European tour alongside Kreator, Nails and Exodus. Having remained one of the most influential names in extreme metal for more than three decades, the band is best known for landmark albums such as “Necroticism – Descanting The Insalubrious”, “Heartwork” and “Surgical Steel”, all of which have left a lasting mark on both death metal and melodic death metal.

Chaoszine sat down with Carcass vocalist and bassist Jeff Walker during the band’s stop in Helsinki for a new episode of the “My Story As Metal Frontman” series. During the interview, Walker discusses his first encounters with heavy music, the vocalists who inspired him, his early days in Electro Hippies and Carcass, and how his approach to singing has evolved throughout the decades.

Carcass will return to Finland twice more this summer with appearances scheduled at John Smith Rock Festival and Hellsinki Metal Festival. You can watch the full “My Story As Metal Frontman” interview with Jeff Walker below.
